Bed-Stuy Townhouse
In the renovation and landscaping of a townhouse, the existing ground floor addition is rethought as a sun room, a distinct threshold that is simultaneously separate and belonging to the apartment interior and the garden outside. It’s distinguished by a single material gesture of wood cladding that “encloses” the space despite the large doorways that flank the room. A 12’-0” sliding glass door frames the view into the garden, while on the opposite side two openings connect to the Master Bedroom. It’s a layered space to pause in and take comfort in multiple environments.
